Barretos: rodeo, music and dancing!

The Barretos rodeo- the biggest in Latin America - will be held from August 19^th to 29^th

Barretos is 427 km from São Paulo and has a population of just 115,000 people. However, in August this small town inSão Paulo State becomes the Latin American rodeo capital, welcoming hundreds of thousands of tourists. As of August 19^th the town will host the 55^th edition of the Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro de Barretos. “Os Independentes”, the group in charge of organizing this big event, is expecting 800,000 people over the eleven days of the festival. One of the main attractions of the event will be the 18^th edition of the Barretos International Rodeo, which will be attended by competitors from Brazil, the USA,Italy and France. Anyone who manages to stay on a bull [1] for eight seconds will have a great chance of finishing in a top position, if not winning the competition. Besides the bull and horse rodeos, the festival will provide many other attractions, including music, culture, cuisine [2], sports and even events for children. More than 100 artists of all musical styles have been confirmed, such as Ana Carolina and Victor & Leo.  Also confirmed, for Saturday, August 21^st, is a show by Mariah Carey.
