Beware of false friends....In fact it is very common to make mistakes with them, false friend or false congnates sometime they are similar but they have different meanings.
Examples?
Actual: real, existing in fact
Assist: To help someone
Attend: To go to an event or a place
Billion 1.000.000.000
Complexion The coloring of a person skin
Contest To compete for something or show disagrement about a decision
Compromise An agreement by concession
Disgrace Embarrassment and the loss of other people's respect, or behavior which causes this
Disgut Dissaproval and dislike at a situation
Embarrassed Feeling ashamed or shy
Idiom A group of words in a fixed order that have a particular meaning that is different from the meaning of each word on its own.
Molest To touch or attack someone in a sexual way against their wishes.
Pretend To behave as if something is true when you know that is not, esp in order to deceive people or as a game.
